Coming from the earth's subsoils, formed in the heart of volcanoes from mixtures of minerals and metals turned into liquid in the form of magma, violently projected into the air at extremely high temperatures during explosions in the craters of volcanoes, lava rock is a natural, volcanic scoria rock that is found on the slopes of old Auvergne volcanoes, around craters that are now dormant.
It is usually red or black in colour.
In the form presented, it is the result of a crushing operation, calibration on a suitable sieve and finally the removal of dust in order to finally obtain round, pleasant and proportionately calibrated shapes, with no roughness, that are even and almost smooth, highlighting an endless number of cavities.
Irrespective of the energy used, the quality of a good barbecue requires a perfect bed of heat.
Natural lava rocks distribute the heat over the entire cooking surface creating a homogeneous fire. Lava rocks are porous and therefore absorb fat and give the grilled meat the taste and smell of wood embers.
Your grilled meat is cooked perfectly and tastes wonderful. It is healthy and retains all of its vitamins and nutritional values.
